On February 16, Nigerian super blogger Linda Ikeji revealed she had purchased two Hermes Birkin bags after waiting eight months for them.
The
drama of the Birkin bags started after that with many Instagram users
saying the bags were fake. Later that night Linda Ikeji vehemently denied she bought fake Birkin bags, and said the designer bags are worth N4.8m.
Today
(February 18) Linda Ikeji has released a statement via her Instagram
apologizing to her fans for her behaviour the other day.
You can read her full statement below;
"Let
me apologize to the true Linda Ikeji fans who may have been
disappointed by my rant the other day! I reacted because I thought it
was really a confirmation from Hermes. But I later found out that Hermes
would never confirm the authenticity of a bag over IG dm. If they’re
wrong, the owner of the bag could sue so usually they ask you to bring
the bag into one of their stores and if they find it to be a
counterfeit, they could seize it. So that dm was a fluke.
